Made entirely from found materials, picked up from the street whilst out walking, the objects are made on Ward’s kitchen table at home, usually at night.
The sculptures ate held together with further found materials, rubber bands, hair bands, string, wire, and by being wedged, balanced, wrapped and tied. Ward speaks about how the method of making these small objects informs the ways he approaches painting, wedging, wrapping, balancing and wrapping paint.
Since 2018 Ward has had intensive periods of making lots of objects followed by long periods without making sculpture.
